The Timeless Whispers Of: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

As I wandered through my garden after the morning drizzle, my eyes met this quiet marvel — a plant that holds time within its petals. Locally called Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, this humble shrub (scientifically known as Brunfelsia pauciflora) tells stories not in words but in shades. The violet bloom speaks of yesterday, the pale lavender of today, and the soft white whispers of tomorrow. I was struck by how, in a single frame, the passage of time unfolds gently, without rush, without regret.

Each droplet resting on the delicate flowers seemed to hold the weight of memory and promise. Observing it closely, I marveled at nature’s poetic rhythm — how this plant gracefully transitions its colours to signal the ephemeral nature of life. A fleeting reminder that all things change, yet in their changing, they remain beautiful.

To me, this wasn’t just a plant. It was a quiet sermon on acceptance, on embracing the seasons of our own lives, one petal at a time.
